THE DEAD VERSUS (a new side project featuring THE AUTUMN OFFERING’s frontman Matt McChesney and guitarist Jesse Nunn) have posted the first track over at their MySpace page (which can be streamed below). McChesney issued the following statement about the project:
The Dead Versus was born from Jesse and myself’s love of acoustic driven music. Acoustic music on the darker side: Alice In Chains, Neil Young, Tom Waits, stuff like that. We wanted to keep it moving though. Adding tribal drums, middle eastern rhythms, and some dissonant chord voicing made it really cool and unique. We plan to put out a full length some time in early 2011, but for now you can check out “A Return To Ashes” at myspace.com/thedeadversus. We plan on making this, another song, and possibly a cover downloadable off itunes in the next month or so. Thanks guys and check it out!!
