Band Bio

Heavy, all-out and riddled with multi-layered melodies – the distinctive metalcore mix of definitely thumbs the eardrums of demanding fans of relentless music. stands for impulsive tension, reactive melodies and aggressive audio-impact. Mercury is known for it’s toxicity and for it’s liquid state of aggregation which is unique among metal. So is the dynamic music of the band, named after the physical mercury phenomenon, which shifts the listener into a toxic flush. The band’s name has been chosen consciously to express how the band’s sound unifies metallic heaviness, liquid liveliness and melodic ease. Since 2006 it’s the stated aim of the band to establish a musical massif of various styles of Metal and Hardcore.

These six blooded musicians: Dennis Diehl, Benny Richter, Thomas Helten, Dominic Paraskevopoulos, Andy Posdziech and Andy Latzko from the Ruhr-Area, Germany recorded their debut album which was released on 6th of November 2009. The record embodies the fast-paced development of . With the new record in stores and their new band name (formerly Butterfly Coma) along with their new guitar player these musicians will push the envelope in 2009.

The sound of stands out with it’s cutting aggressive guitar riffs, paired with catchy melodies which are borne by several voice vocals and spherical keyboards. The driving drum rhythms and grooving bass lines along with the brute shouting of the singer form the backbone of the songs. The blend gets flavored with cutting-edge scratches and samples. Producer of their debut album is Benny Richter, who has previously worked in the studio with bands like Caliban, Krypteria and Emil Bulls. The soundtrack of the successful Halloween-event Terenzi Horror Nights also bears his musical signature. After the album release in autumn the band is up for an extensive support tour.

    So far, I've only checked out the Evil Echo video but I love the dynamic that these guys have. I like the diversity and the bounce. I'm normally pretty turned off by a lot of the metal bands that mix rap and hip hop qualities into their tracks (I just don't like past outcomes of most of them), but these guys mix everything seamlessly. That track alone definitely makes your head bounce. Right out of the gate, I dig these guys so far. I'm a pretty big fan of groove metal. I like the bounce that it has.

    Definitely going to check the rest of this album out and see if they keep the same energy up throughout.

    Trust me, they crank the energy way up! This is the only song that has any kind of rap metal vibe to it at all…so dont worry.
    Yea, grab the album…its a must have!
